Do Solid State Drives Have a Future?
Do solid state drives have a future? This question has been bugging me like crazy. I think it does have a future, but I also think that at the expensive price it's at right now for such small capacity, it may be a while for people to adapt to flash drives for their laptops and soon desktops. I mean look at it. They already have terabyte hard drives. You could get two terabyte hard drives and run those as a RAID 0. Of course they aren't as reliable and fast, but why spend $1,000 to run a RAID 0 with two 64GB solid state drives when you could get two terabyte hard drives for only $500? It's common logic. The solid state drive makers have to eventually catch up or else they'll be left in the dust. What are your thoughts?
