Why HD DVD Died

I think Warner Bros. is to blame for HD DVD's death. They made a move. Everything seemed fine until they had to switch to Blu-ray. Don't get me wrong, Blu-ray's a good format, but I think HD DVD could've lasted a little longer if Warner Bros. hadn't gave up on it. Of course Wal-mart and Best Buy might be a bit to blame, but it all came down to them thinking that since Warner Bros. switched, HD DVD wouldn't last much longer. Fine, lets say you think it's Toshiba's and Microsoft's fault. I sort of agree. They didn't market HD DVD very well in my opinion and I think that's why it died. In the end, it comes down to marketing. You can't expect to sell something if you don't tell anyone. Even though a lot of consumers may still haven't heard of Blu-ray or know what it is, it became more of a household name than HD DVD and that is because of the magician called marketing. How long will Blu-ray last? Sorry, that's a different post.
